Founded 1977

Music Director – Michael Kelsall


According to programmes and notes written by the founder, the late Jack Rainbird, the choir started in 1977 as a quartet formed to sing a few carols at a Christmas concert, organised to raise funds to renovate the Old Church house in Ormskirk.  From that small beginning the choir now has around 24 singers.

  • The choir is a registered charity and is active in supporting other charities’ fund raising.
  • The choir give between 4 and 8 public and private concerts every year.
  • The choir performs at many weddings every year
  • The choir repertoire is extensive, consisting of classical, spiritual, folk songs and songs from the shows.
  • The choir welcomes new members.

Rehearsals are held every Monday evening at Edge Hill University from 8-0pm till 10-0pm.
