Karl Greenall comes from Wigan. His interest in music began to develop when he was 6 years old when he started to learn to play the piano. He trained in music at Goldsmith's College, London and learned to play the organ as a pupil of Allan Wicks at Canterbury Cathedral. His first post was that of music teacher at Langley Park Boys School, Bromley. Eventually he moved back up north and took up a teaching post at Deyes High School, Maghull, where he taught for 14 years. In 2007 he became head of music at KGV, Southport. He is organist at Wigan Parish church and became Musical Director of the Occasional Singers in the summer of 2007. His musical interests are wide ranging but he does have a particular passion for the music of Bach
